I've been in touch with you before regarding XZX, but I was just
browsing the page to check for version updates and thought I
would leave a note. Thanks once again for a great emulator. It's
great to relive the good old days. All your hard work on the
emulator *IS* greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I remembered that old times when I was young and my father
brought home my first computer - ZX 80, then it was Spectrum,
Delta... and then PC...
You would not believe it, but in times of socialistic government
in our country Sinclair was used as an industry computer for
controlling production processes... because of embargo and
prices of "real" computers, Spectrum was used as cheap computer
in state companies...
But best were the games, of course...

Well well well... you definitely are *hard* to find. When I
first saw XZX 0.5.4 on sunsite I grabbed it immediatly... only
to find that the thing would not compile.
One and a half years later (!!!) I found the new XZX home
page... and d/led the new XZX, fervently hoping that it will
compile and run on my machine... a dual PPro is somewhat
different from a Z80 :).
Great job on keeping the Spectrum - the first PC IMHO (C64?
What's THAT?) - alive and well (err..) after all these years.

Makes me remember the long nights my brother and I passed
together while trying the latest games we (he actually)
collected somewhere. I loved it then, I still love it now. Now,
if I can just locate that box where I put all the old spectrum
tapes...

I remember the ZX computers from back then. I always wanted to
own one. But I mostly fancied the Jupiter Ace. Do you know it?
It's a Forth based computer somewhat like the ZX. I would love
to be able to find one.
Thank for keeping computing alive.

I think youīre doing a great job with this page! As a former
ZX Spectrum user, Iīd just want to say itīs good to know the
platformīs still alive (if only in a few corners of the world).
I got my ZX Spectrum 48k 14 years ago and that first impression
still lasts! *l* I also got me a Discovery I and made an
external keyboard as well as a joystick. Sadly I sold all my
equiptment many years ago to buy and 8886. :-(
Well, keep up the splended work and keep on playing those good
old games; They donīt make anything like them anymore!
Best regards Henrik.

Please Help Me!
I had my first ever computer for Christmas 1987, an original +2
(grey model). Very recently I have resurrected it from the loft
and despite my best attempts, the sme fault still appears that
I had about a year after I had it. Whenever I use 128K Tape
Loader or go to 48K and press J"", the flashing cyan/red border
does not appear. In the old days I would blow into the tape
deck or slam it down really hard and this would fix it. However
I need a permanent remedy. If you can help please Email me.
Thanks.

same way though.....
Thank you!

I own a ZX 48k and a +2 with +D interface... So I already
registered the Z80 emulator under DOS... But I switched to
Linux and now, my machine runs most of the times under Linux...
So I discovered Xzx... It's nearly as great as Z80... In fact,
as it runs under X, it's a little bit slower... But it's more
portable and I think that on SUN or other similar it'd be a lot
faster ;-)
It's a great job too... continue this way...

Hallo,
Herzlichst,
WK

Actually, I was looking for the debugger instructions. I have
some important coding work to do with XZX - gotta get infinite
energy into Glider Rider...
Thanks for a seriously funky emulator, allowing me to relive
those days when I had an Issue 1 ZX Spectrum 48k. (Ulp...)

Hallo !

Your XZX is the BEST ZX emulator all over the world in SOUND of
AY chip! Great! But should be ACB stereo and next version
should have better sync and border and multicolor effects (see
OverScan demo from BusySoftware)

it seems as if english were the usual language here in your
guestbook, so why not write in english?
To us: We are the leading team of Germanies biggest Spectrum
Club called SPC with its domain in Cologne/Germany and better
known as WoMo-Team in the scene. We do "our job" since
January 1990 and we still edit a papermag since then monthly
with 16 pages DIN A5.
We use of course an original Spectrum 128, +2 and +2A, however
not a +3. We also use several Emulators for ZX81, Spectrum and
the very unknown SAM Coupe. On some meetings we saw your
Emulator, not knowing that you are the autor of this. We cannot
omnid to say: its superb!
So we will download first your shareware version for testing
it out. Therfore we have a lot of connections to ex-USSR Speccy
owners and programmers who all work with Pentagon (avaiable for
149 US$) we think the full version could be good for us.
Till next and yours sinclairly, your WoMo-Team

Your emulator sounds wonderful!
Any chance of making an Red Hat Linux RPM of it, for tidier
installation?
David Davis
Since version 2.9.1 XZX is also available in RPM and SRPM format. This
includes the contribs and the demo version.

ZXlink sounds marvellous! Emulation is great, but I agree that
to have the whole experience one needs to use the real thing.
Loading from old tapes that have nearly demagnetised is not
fun.... so ZXlink sounds like my dream come true.... if I can
find a lead long enough to reach to my speccy and TV from the
PC in another room!
This really does take me back.... All I need are some old
copies of Computer and Video Games and Crash.... oh and get my
mother to drive 100 miles to get me a cup of tea and biscuits:)
I hope someone starts a windoze port to take this to a wider
Spectrum loving audience.
Thanks for your contribution

I'm very happy to see there are still people who love the good
old games and machines. I had a C64 long time ago, now I'm
playing all the games (like Bubble Bobble, Jet Set Willy,
Chase HQ,...) on my Psion Series 5 with the z80 Palmtop-
Emulator 3.1. It feels like falling back into my carefree
childhood. If someone wants to send me selfmade POK-, SCR-,
Z80-, TAP- or SNA-Files: YOU'RE WELCOME :-) (unfortunately I
never wrote programs so I don't know nothing about Sinclair
Basic, and it's hard to still find something about it in German
language).
Many greetings from Austria, Mark HERMANN

I never actually had a real Spectrum , but a romanian clone
called MicroTIM+ , who works as well as the original thing,
but I'm a great fan of that little machine (ok, i do own an
original but it's damaged ..
Anyone got the electronic schemes and the PCB layout of issue 3
please mail me!!)
This emulator works very well , and as soon as I get my hands
on some money I'll order the registred version!
